Stock, Planning & Logistics Coordinator

A well-established, family-run business specialising in the manufacture of composite products for the motorsport (including Formula 1), automotive and aerospace sectors is seeking to appoint a Stock, Planning & Logistics Coordinator. This full-time, on-site role offers an excellent opportunity to join a busy and growing team at the heart of the business’s operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock levels, coordinating supply chain activities, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers. This is a hands-on, varied position that requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
*
Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels for materials, components, and finished goods
*
Carry out regular stock checks and investigate any discrepancies
*
Implement and maintain stock control procedures
*
Identify and manage slow-moving or obsolete stock
*
Improve warehouse layout and storage efficiency
Planning & Forecasting
*
Create purchasing plans based on forecasts, lead times, and stock thresholds
*
Schedule and manage incoming deliveries from suppliers
Logistics & Despatch
*
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries
*
Select appropriate shipping methods and liaise with carriers
*
Prepare all necessary shipping documentation, including packing lists, customs paperwork, and delivery notes
*
Coordinate the picking, packing, and despatch of orders
*
Track deliveries and resolve any transport-related issues
Health & Safety
*
Ensure all warehouse and logistics activities are carried out in accordance with health and safety policies
Candidate Requirements:
*
Minimum of two years’ experience in stock control, logistics, inventory, or supply chain operations
*
Strong understanding of stock management processes
*
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
*
Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
*
Confident communicator with the ability to work across departments
*
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable:
*
Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
*
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, Xero, or similar
*
Familiarity with international shipping and customs procedures
*
Forklift licence (if relevant)
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
*
Knowledge of lean practices or continuous improvement methodologies
