We are recruiting for a Head of Finance on behalf of a successful, privately owned business, working within the construction industry. This firm offers a vibrant office environment and prides itself on the wellbeing and growth of its employees.

The role is office based and requires 30 hours per week with flexibility to suit, which could be four full days or hours spread across five days.

Reporting to the Managing Director and leadership team, the key function of this role will be to oversee a finance team of six, strengthen and enhance the quality and depth of financial reporting and provide analysis for the Management Team.
As Head of Finance your responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing the finance and credit services departments on a day-to-day basis
* Preparation of year-end financial accounts
* Managing and reviewing sales and purchase ledger ensuring the accounts team are keeping accurate accounts
* Preparing monthly management accounts, including cashflow forecasting and variance analysis
* Take responsibility for the maintenance of the nominal ledger, preparing journal entries where relevant for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and payroll
* Maintain Fixed Asset Registers
* VAT and limited CIS administration
* Structuring and monitoring the company’s financial KPIs
* Sales and profitability analysis
* Review and account for supplier rebates
* Prepare profitability statements for external Sales Team
* Consider bad debt provisions
Please apply if you have the following skills and experience:
* Be an experienced accounts professional either qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or qualified by experience
* Minimum five years’ experience gained within the finance department of a UK SME
* Good general IT skills – the company currently uses Sage 200 but is migrating its finance and CRM system to SAP imminently and although not essential, experience in either of these would be desirable
* Ability to effectively manage the accounts department of a busy company
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Be confident managing own workload
