We are looking for an experienced Dispenser to join our busyand friendly team to provide a high-quality service to patients. The successfulcandidate will possess a minimum of NVQ Level 2 and will be able to work 24hours per week at our Bubwith surgery. The willingness to work at our SouthCave and Brough surgeries on occasion is also required.
The candidate we are seeking should be experienced indelivering an efficient and courteous service, always maintainingprofessionalism and discretion, and be able to work independently and as partof a team. Good communication skills and attention to detail are essentialalong with the flexibility to cover for annual/sick leave.

Main duties of the job
You will need to be a good communicator with excellentinterpersonal and customer service skills; especially under pressure. You willhave a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellentorganisational skills and time management are critical. A caring, empatheticcharacter is also essential.

Job responsibilities
Dispensing NHS prescriptions for dispensing patients andtemporary residents, as well as private prescriptions to all patientsregistered at the Practice, as required by the Partners. Handling cash andchecking exemption certificates in relation to this and advising patients onthe use/compliance of drugs as necessary.
Providing a repeat prescription service which includestaking requests by telephone, email, SystmOne and repeat slips.
Adding to and/or amending patients SystmOne medicationrecord, as advised by the doctors e.g., discharge and hospital letters.
Ensuring an efficient service is maintained between Bubwithand Holme on Spalding Moor surgeries with relation to the collection ofprescription requests and delivery of medication/prescriptions.
Maintaining adequate stock levels of drugs within thedispensary, ordering as required (paying attention to costing) and checking allinvoices against stock received. Rotating stock to ensure short-dated lines areused first. Date checking stock everythree months.
Keeping up to date with drug changes and advancements,sharing useful information with the dispensary and clinical teams.
Processing MDS blister packs for those patients in need.
Maintaining up to date records of Controlled Drugs. Carrying out a weekly CD stock balance check(on a rota basis with the other Bubwith dispensers).
Ensuring prescriptions are endorsed correctly, overleafcompleted by patient, counted, recorded and filed ready to be sent to the PPAfor reimbursement at the end of each month.
Maintaining good communications with other members of thePractice to maximise benefits to patients.
Working in accordance with the Dispensary SOPs at all times.
Attending monthly dispensary meetings whenever possible.Ensuring that Significant Events and Near Misses are reported and madeavailable to be discussed at the meetings.
Taking part in an annual Performance and Development reviewas required by the Practice.
Keeping the dispensary clean, tidy and secure in order torun efficiently.
