Business Development Manager

Dragon WiFi Ltd — Wales

About Dragon WiFi
Dragon WiFi is a telecommunications company based in Wales, delivering broadband, WiFi, fibre, CCTV, VoIP phone systems, and IT support to over 2,000 customers across Wales and South West England.
We're a Crown Commercial Supplier working with businesses, holiday parks, caravan sites, farms, public sector organisations, and emergency services. We specialise in solving connectivity problems where other providers can't or won't — remote locations, poor coverage, difficult terrain.
We've built a strong reputation in the holiday park and leisure sector providing managed WiFi that parks actually rely on. On the public sector side, we're on frameworks and supplying into local authorities, emergency services, and Welsh Government connectivity schemes. We sit alongside some of the bigger names in UK telecoms and we hold our own.

The company is growing and we need someone to help drive that.

The Role
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to find, win, and develop new business.
This is not an account management role. We need someone who will actively go out, find opportunities, build relationships, and close deals. You'll generate your own pipeline as well as follow up on inbound leads.
You'll be selling managed WiFi for holiday parks and leisure sites, business broadband and fibre, CCTV, VoIP, IT support, and networking solutions.
The holiday park and leisure market is a major focus. If you've sold into that sector or understand the hospitality and tourism industry in Wales and the South West, that's a big advantage.
There's also significant opportunity in the public sector. We're already through the door with councils, emergency services, and public bodies — we need someone to grow that. If you've navigated frameworks, tenders, and ITTs, that's valuable.
We work alongside tier-one and tier-two telecoms suppliers — sometimes as partners, sometimes as competitors. We get brought in where bigger players need local expertise, and we go up against them where we offer a better solution. You need to be comfortable at that level.

What You'll Be Doing
Prospecting and building a pipeline across holiday parks, leisure, hospitality, rural businesses, and public sector. Managing inbound enquiries and converting them. Understanding customer requirements and recommending the right solution. Putting together quotes, proposals, and tender responses. Identifying and driving public sector opportunities through procurement processes. Keeping the CRM up to date — no shortcuts. Working with our technical team to scope solutions. Representing Dragon WiFi at trade shows, public sector expos, and networking events. Building long-term customer relationships. Keeping tabs on the competition.

Who We're Looking For
At least three years of B2B sales experience — generating revenue and hitting targets, not customer service or retail. Ideally from IT, telecoms, networking, or WiFi. Experience selling into holiday parks or leisure goes straight to the top.
Public sector sales experience is a real plus. If you know how frameworks and procurement work, we want to talk to you.
If you've worked for or alongside bigger telecoms suppliers and want to move somewhere your work actually matters, this could be it.
You need to be fully self-motivated, presentable, professional, a strong communicator, organised, and comfortable talking about technology without being an engineer. You need to be honest — we'd rather lose a deal than oversell.

What Would Make You Stand Out
Experience selling managed WiFi to holiday parks or leisure businesses. Existing contacts in hospitality, tourism, or leisure across Wales or South West England. Public sector experience with Crown Commercial Service, G-Cloud, or local authority frameworks. Experience working with or alongside tier-one or tier-two telecoms suppliers. Knowledge of rural connectivity — fixed wireless, satellite, not-spot solutions. Experience with Welsh Government connectivity schemes. Full UK driving licence.

What We're Offering
Competitive base salary dependent on experience plus uncapped commission. A chance to directly influence the growth of a company that's genuinely going somewhere. A supportive, knowledgeable team. Office dogs. Flexibility on hours for the right person. Product training and ongoing development.
