At Southbourne Infant School, we have exciting opportunities for a member of staff to join our great team.
We are looking for a warm, caring, dedicated and organised person to join our friendly and supportive team, who is keen to help ensure that all children feel happy and valued in school and are therefore able to reach their full potential educationally.
We welcome applications from qualified (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent) and experienced Teaching Assistants. It is desirable that the applicant has experience working with children in Early Years or Key Stage 1, and with SEN needs.
The positions also includes 30 minutes midday meal supervision every day.
Job Details
Permanent Teaching Assistant and Midday Meal Supervisor – Full Time – Term Time Only 38 weeks (Part-time may be considered) some Inset training days to be agreed in advance and paid as overtime.
Teaching Assistant
(8.30 -12:15 & 13:15– 15.30) Salary: TA 30 hours pro-rata Grade 3 – point 3-4 (the FTE annual salary is £ 24,027-£24,404)
Midday Meal Supervisor
(30 minutes per day) Salary: MMS 2.5 hours pro-rata Grade 2 – point 2-3 (the FTE annual salary is £ 23,656-£24,027)

Start Date: June/July 2025 September will also be considered

The person appointed will:
• Be a positive, reliable and flexible team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Be able to support children’s wellbeing
• Have a good understanding of how children learn and develop
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of children’s needs
• Have the ability to support children with SEN
• Be able to motivate children and help them achieve their potential
• Be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 standard or equivalent
• Have good literacy and numeracy skills
