Registered Nurse (NMC) with oncology/haematology expertise
Post-registration teaching qualification

Main duties of the job
- Work in partnership with the senior management team of Weston Park Cancer Centre and partner organisations across the Integrated Care System to provide and coordinate extensive training and education opportunities across patient cancer pathways.
- Be responsible for overseeing induction, mandatory, and oncology-specific training, working with relevant managers to ensure compliance with training competencies to meet job descriptions and facilitate staff development.
- Coordinate and facilitate training and maintenance of clinical skills.
- Be an active member of relevant Local and National training and education, governance and quality groups.
- Be required to develop and maintain links with local Higher Education Institutions (HEI) to facilitate and support placements for both undergraduate and post graduate education programmes.
- Be responsible for developing and sustaining their own knowledge, clinical skills, and professional awareness in accordance with the NMC Code.
- Act as a role model and teacher, providing mentorship and support, demonstrating exemplary practice to all members of the Multi-disciplinary Team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Degree Level qualification
2. Registered Nurse
3. To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
4. Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy Passport
Desirable criteria
5. Leadership/management qualification
6. OSCE examiner training
7. Simulation faculty development training
8. Postgraduate qualification in a related subject at Master’s Level
Experience
Essential criteria
9. Significant post registration experience in acute oncology or haematology
10. Significant experience of teaching, supervising and assessing healthcare learners in the practice and classroom setting
11. Experience as a clinical educator as a band 6
12. Experience of working across professional and organisational boundaries.
13. IT literacy competent in standard PC packages (i.e. Microsoft Office or equivalent)
14. Ongoing evidence of leading clinical innovation or leading change within clinical practice
15. Extensive experience developing and supporting relevant educational programmes
Knowledge and Awareness
Essential criteria
16. Strong leadership skills, with proven ability to manage, motivate and enable team activity and team members
17. Excellent interpersonal skills able to engage and build effective relationships at all levels in stakeholder organisations
18. Ability to teach and facilitate in a variety of settings with different groups of staff
Desirable criteria
19. Demonstrable knowledge of human factors principles in the teaching setting
