Job Introduction
Gray Healthcare is looking to recruit a Service Manager responsible for overseeing a portfolio of services across Staffordshire and Telford. The role involves managing approximately 900 to 1,000 hours weekly across multiple support packages, providing direct line management to over 30 support workers, including bank staff.
The Service Manager will coach and mentor teams to deliver exceptional support, fostering a positive work culture that promotes well-being and staff retention. The role focuses on business delivery and financial accountability for each support package, managing staffing, recruitment, and retention.
This full-time position requires 37.5 hours per week, operating on a rotational rota including weekends and being part of the Operational On-Call rota.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent Gray Healthcare professionally, embodying its vision and values.
* Oversee profit and loss for each service, ensuring budget targets and KPIs are met.
* Ensure compliance with CQC inspection frameworks.
* Provide effective leadership for daily operations.
* Ensure services deliver outstanding support according to contracts.
* Use data and research to improve performance.
* Ensure safeguarding is a fundamental part of all discussions.
* Engage support workers in supervision and appraisals.
* Collaborate with HR, Clinical Support, Finance, and other partners to foster a positive team culture.
* Manage employee issues and ensure policy compliance.
* Work with commissioners and Business Development Managers to expand services.
* Coordinate with mobilisation and clinical teams to meet project milestones.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Over 5 years’ experience in operations leadership, with a Level 4+ qualification in Leadership or Management.
* Understanding of issues faced by people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
* Risk management expertise.
* Driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Knowledge of procurement, contracts, HR, and business management.
* Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

* Resilient personality capable of working under pressure.
* Ability to build stakeholder relationships.
* Experience with change management and contract oversight.
* IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, finance, and client management systems.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Understanding of clinical governance.
* Experience in managing organizational change.
