Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

Are you looking to kick-start a career in engineering with a hands-on apprenticeship that provides both practical experience and theoretical knowledge? Join Reach Printing Services as an Engineering Apprentice, where you'll gain valuable mechanical and electrical skills while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will learn to observe, follow, and maintain all safe systems across the site, ensuring full compliance with safety instructions. You’ll develop a broad skillset in both mechanical and electrical engineering, progressing from learning tasks under supervision to completing them independently and competently. Your journey will include site-based applications of the knowledge gained through your apprenticeship programme, helping you grow into a skilled engineer.

As part of your development, you will attend college-based learning punctually and consistently, demonstrating the professional behaviours expected of a Reach Printing Services employee. You’ll also be responsible for building a work-based portfolio to evidence your learning and successfully pass any assessments set by the learning centre. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will participate in all working shifts, including times outside of core hours where required, to reinforce your learning and develop essential skills.

Your responsibilities will include reporting work on the EAM system, communicating effectively across teams through email, reports, documentation, and verbal feedback, and ensuring compliance with engineering visual standards where applicable. You will also contribute to preventative and corrective maintenance efforts, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and effectively. By the end of your apprenticeship, you will be well-prepared to successfully complete the End Point Assessment (EPA) and contribute to engineering and operational tasks as required.

Qualifications

What you’ll need to succeed:

To succeed in this role, you must comply with current right-to-work legislation and be at least 18 years old at the time of employment to meet site safety regulations. You should have the ability to attend both the worksite and the learning centre at the required times and days, demonstrating reliability and commitment to your training. Most importantly, you must have a strong desire to learn and grow, striving to become the best engineer you can be while embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with the apprenticeship.

If you're eager to develop a long-term career in engineering, gain hands-on experience, and work with industry professionals while obtaining a recognised qualification, we’d love to hear from you!
