Plant Manager Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor £100m project Freelance: Up to 12 months Rate: £230 per day Location: Birmingham We are currently searching for a Plant Manager for a landmark project in Birmingham. The role will be working with an award-winning tier 1 civil engineer contractor who are at the forefront of many of the UK's most exciting projects. As Plant Manager, you will be a valuable part of the Logistics team ensuring the smooth daily operation of the site. Duties: Managing all plant and equipment on site, ensuring availability, suitability and efficient utilisation across project activities Coordinating plant allocation and logistics, including deliveries, off-hire and movement of equipment in line with programme requirements Overseeing maintenance and inspections, ensuring all plant is serviced, certified and compliant with statutory and site requirements Monitoring plant costs and usage, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenditure Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards, including operator competence, lifting operations and safe use of equipment Maintaining plant records and documentation, including inspections, service logs, hire agreements and compliance certificates Managing plant operators and associated personnel, coordinating resources and ensuring productivity on site Identifying and mitigating risks related to plant operations, including breakdowns, delays and logistical constraints Experience Required: Proven experience managing plant and equipment on construction or civil engineering sites, ideally within groundworks, infrastructure or heavy civils Strong knowledge of plant types, capabilities and logistics, including earthmoving equipment, lifting operations and site plant planning Experience managing plant hire, suppliers and costs, with the ability to negotiate rates and optimise utilisation Good understanding of HSEQ requirements, including LOLER, PUWER, maintenance, inspections and operator competencies To apply for this role please send your CV through the portal or get in contact with Sam Marsden at Falcon Green directly.
