SEN Teacher
Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher, keen to make a difference within Primary-aged SEN Education?
A well-established Specialist Provision in Marple are seeking an SEN Teacher to lead a small group of Primary-aged children with complex SEMH, ASC and other learning needs.
Job Description:
* Permanent, full-time Teaching position
* Nurturing SEMH School
* Work with Primary-aged students (5-11 years) with a range of needs: ASC, SEMH, other complex learning and mental health needs
* Small classes of max. 4-5 students (high staff/student ratios)
* Trauma-informed practice, child-centred approach
* Oversee class Teaching Assistants to ensure all students can thrive
* Start date as soon as possible (happy to work around notice periods; the school are keen to have the right person, even if it means waiting until you are available).
Person description:
* QTS/QTLS, with experience working in a Primary, or preferably SEND setting with children with similar SEND
* Child-centred approach to teaching - understands and implements trauma-informed practices
* Calm and patient demeanour, with strong classroom management skills
* Excellent behaviour management, adaptability to deal with unpredictable and unregulated behaviour
This is a special opportunity to join a nurturing SEMH Provision in Marple, near Stockport. The school caters to 45 children aged 5-18; as a Primary Teacher, you will lead a small class of up to 5 KS1/2 children. The school takes a child-centred approach to education, with high staff/student ratios, and all strategies implement trauma-informed practice.
