Head of NHS Commercial Partnerships (Branded Generics)

With a lean, high-performing team, the organisation has delivered significant revenue growth by identifying and executing commercially attractive opportunities within the NHS, with a clear focus on delivering cost efficiencies while maintaining reliable supply.
This is a leadership role within the branded generics division, offering the opportunity to lead a national NHS commercial strategy while directly managing a team of experienced Key Account Managers.
The Role
The Head of NHS Commercial Partnerships will take full responsibility for driving revenue growth across NHS accounts, while leading and developing a team of four Senior Commercial Key Account Managers. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining strategic oversight with direct commercial execution.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading, coaching and developing a team of Senior Commercial KAMs to deliver against ambitious revenue targets
* Setting national account strategy across ICBs, PCNs and NHS Trusts
* Identifying and executing high-value commercial opportunities through data-led insight and market analysis
* Building and overseeing robust business cases to support product adoption and switching strategies
* Maintaining senior-level relationships with key NHS stakeholders
* Leading complex commercial negotiations to secure profitable and sustainable agreements
* Ensuring alignment between demand, forecasting and supply chain to maintain consistency and trust
* Driving successful product launches through structured planning and early NHS engagement
* Monitoring team and account performance, using data and market intelligence to inform strategy
The Person
The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of commercial leadership and analytical capability, with a proven track record of delivering growth within the NHS.
Key requirements include:
* Experience in a senior commercial leadership role, ideally within branded generics, generics, or value-driven NHS markets
* Proven ability to lead, develop and performance-manage a high-performing KAM team
* Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to build and challenge business cases
* Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with market and prescribing data
* Deep understanding of NHS structures, particularly ICBs and medicines optimisation
* Demonstrated success in identifying opportunities and converting them into revenue growth
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills at a senior level
* High levels of resilience, drive, and accountability in a performance-focused environment
