This is a construction-focused role, ideal for civil engineers with major infrastructure experience who want to step into a client-side position. You don’t need prior NEC Supervisor experience — full training will be provided. The Role Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, you will act as HS2’s representative on site, ensuring the works are delivered to the required standards. Key Responsibilities: * Monitor the quality of site works, witness tests/inspections, and ensure compliance with Works Information. * Provide technical assurance that construction meets HS2’s standards, sponsor requirements, and policies. * Act as the client’s “eyes and ears” on site — proactively challenging and collaborating with the contractor where required. * Build effective working relationships with the contractor and wider delivery teams. * Identify and resolve issues early to maintain programme certainty. Candidate Profile We’re looking for a qualified Civil Engineer with major infrastructure experience and strong on-site delivery exposure. Essential: ✔️ Background in heavy civils – highways, bridges, structures, earthworks, tunnelling, airports, nuclear, or similar. ✔️ On-site construction delivery experience (client, consultant, or Tier 1 contractor). ✔️ Strong grasp of CDM regulations and constructability. ✔️ Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills. ✔️ Eye for quality assurance and detail.
