On behalf of PwC, we are recruiting for a Programme Manager (PMO) - Cost Improvement (NHS) on an i nitial 3- month contract based in Kendal/Cumbria. It will be a hybrid model. Join us as a Programme Manager: To support the identification, development, and delivery of Cost Improvement Plans (CIP) within an NHS environment, driving sustainable financial savings across clinical and operational areas. The role focuses on engaging senior stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights, and ensuring effective programme governance to deliver measurable efficiencies across medical and surgical services. What you'll do: Lead end-to-end delivery of Cost Improvement Programmes (CIP) within NHS settings Establish and manage PMO structures, governance, reporting, and tracking of savings delivery Engage and influence C-suite stakeholders, presenting progress, risks, and opportunities Identify and develop new cost-saving initiatives through workshops, data analysis, and stakeholder challenge Facilitate workshops with clinical (medical/surgical) and operational teams to drive opportunity identification Translate and present complex data insights from analysts into clear, actionable recommendations Monitor delivery against financial targets, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives Produce high-quality programme reporting, including status updates, RAID logs, and savings tracking Support embedding of cost improvement initiatives into business-as-usual processes The skills you'll need: Proven experience within NHS Strong background in programme management / PMO leadership Demonstrated experience working with C-suite stakeholders in complex organisations Experience in identifying and delivering financial savings plans within healthcare Ability to facilitate workshops and challenge stakeholders to uncover efficiency opportunities Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting and presenting data insights Experience across medical and/or surgical services Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills At PwC we want every individual to feel valued, respected and empowered to contribute fully.
