The Role

Join Our Dynamic Out of Hours Team as an Adults Social Worker and AMHP

Are you an experienced and passionate Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) looking for an exciting, fast-paced role where you can make a real impact when it matters most? Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for dedicated and skilled professionals to join our Out of Hours team and be at the frontline of critical social work services.

About the Role

* As an AMHP in our Emergency Duty Team, you will: Respond to urgent social work and mental health crises outside normal office hours.
* Conduct Mental Health Act Assessments and manage safeguarding cases with confidence.
* Provide critical Adults Social Care intervention and support to individuals facing significant harm or distress.
* Use your assessment, care planning, and case management skills to deliver the best possible outcomes.


About You

* A qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
* An Approved Mental Health Professional ready for the challenges of out-of-hours work.
* Strong crisis management skills and a passion for helping those in need.
* Experience in mental health, safeguarding, and emergency intervention.
* Adult social care experience.
* A driver with a valid UK license and access to a vehicle for work use.
* Willingness to work on a rotating shift basis, including evenings, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND

3. Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND

4. Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.
