We’re recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a growing business based in Basildon, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to progress towards a Head of Finance or Financial Controller role within the next 18 months.
Reporting to the Finance Director and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll take ownership of the finance function while delivering both strong financial control and valuable commercial insight to the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full ownership of the finance function
2. Preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and group reporting)
3. Line management and development of the Accounts Assistants
4. Budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting
5. Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory filings ( VAT)
6. Managing external relationships including auditors and HMRC
7. Maintaining and improving financial controls and processes, including ownership of the ERP system
8. Providing commercial insight and partnering with senior stakeholders
About You
9. 2+ years’ experience as a Management Accountant (or similar role)
10. Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification or already qualified
11. Strong Excel skills and confident working with financial systems
12. Energetic, resilient and commercially minded
13. Enjoy problem-solving and working in a fast-paced environment
