Overview
An exciting opportunity for a permanent Consultant Neurologist to join the current team at East Surrey Hospital. This post is for 10 programmed activities per week. The successful applicant will provide a Neurology service of the highest quality, maintaining and developing standards through clinical audit, evidence-based research, job planning and appraisal. The post holder will work flexibly with colleagues to support the hospital's business strategy.
Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a full-time Consultant Neurologist. The post holder will be based at East Surrey Hospital and, alongside the existing consultant neurologist, will provide inpatient and outpatient services at East Surrey Hospital and outpatient services in the community hospital in Crawley/Horsham.
Responsibilities
* Deliver inpatient and outpatient neurology services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Develop specialist interests and participate in clinical service development.
* Commit to delivering clinical and quality targets agreed nationally, locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
* Engage in clinical audit, research, and appraisal processes to maintain and raise service standards.
* Collaborate with colleagues to support the hospital’s business strategy and flexible workflow.

Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is a leading local employer with approximately 6,000 staff and serves a population of around 780,000. The Trust provides emergency and planned care across East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, including towns such as Crawley, Horsham, Reigate and Redhill. East Surrey Hospital is the main site and the closest trauma unit to Gatwick Airport. Additional outpatient, diagnostic and planned care services are provided at sites including The Earlswood Centre, Caterham Dene Hospital, Oxted Health Centre, Crawley Hospital and Horsham Hospital.

Pay, Terms and Conditions
Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band on starting with the Trust (subject to any relevant NHS continuous service). Progression through pay steps is in accordance with the NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) terms and conditions. For part-time roles, salary is pro rata based on pay step, hours worked and AfC terms.
