GSL Education are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to work within secondary school in Hull.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people in education. The role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, graduate, youth worker, sports coach, or individual with experience supporting children and young people.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide classroom support and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You may support students on a 1:1 basis, within small groups, or across whole-class settings, helping to remove barriers to learning and encourage student progress.
The role requires patience, adaptability, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
* Supporting students within classroom lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Providing 1:1 and small group interventions where required
* Assisting teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery
* Supporting students with additional learning needs and barriers to learning
* Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence
* Helping to maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
* Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour
* Promoting safeguarding and student wellbeing at all times
Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children or young people in education, care, coaching, mentoring, or youth work settings
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, supportive, and adaptable approach
* Ability to build positive professional relationships quickly
* Experience supporting students with additional needs is desirable
* A DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education
* The right to work in the UK
