Role overview
As a Development HR Advisor you will be part of the HR Business Support team. You will have an HR background and a strong understanding of employment relations and working towards CIPD level 3 or 5.
Key responsibilities
* Manage the HR Business Support Mailbox and ensure timely escalation to the wider HR team.
* Record and analyse employee relations and absence activity accurately and in a timely manner.
* Provide supporting documentation to managers and employees in line with policy and procedural expectations.
* Assist HR Officer activities during business restructures or changes.
* Take accurate meeting minutes and ensure subsequent actions meet company and legal requirements.
* Foster good relationships with managers, employees and TU colleagues.
* Provide independent advice to support managers, colleagues and line managers in Yusen people‑management activities.
* Support HR Advisor in project, timeline and case management.
* Attend externally provided Employment Law updates, webinars and seminars.
* Undertake required training and development programmes to ensure compliance with business objectives.
* Help managers understand Yusen procedures and HR best practice by providing advice, coaching and training.
Key requirements
* CIPD qualified or working towards level 3 or 5.
* Background in logistics or manufacturing (preferred).
* Proven HR administrative experience.
* Experience working independently using own initiative.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Ability to analyse complicated issues and work productively towards solutions.
* Inquisitive mindset and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
* Understanding of employment law, particularly disciplinary, absence management and equality.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good time management, self‑prioritisation and meeting deadlines.
* Practical problem‑solving ability.
* Flexibility to work irregular hours when required.

Location and employment details
Derby (DE65 6BG). Must attend office 3 times a week and be willing to travel to multiple sites.
