What will be your role in the company?
You will support the development and delivery of comprehensive technical training for the Transport for Wales (TfW) project, as well as wider CAF Rail UK operations when required. This includes creating and delivering technical training for the Class 197 fleet, covering vehicle familiarisation, systems knowledge, maintenance procedures, overhaul activities and depot equipment.
You will lead on Safety‑Critical Competence management for the project, ensuring all training and assessment activities meet CAF policies, Railway Group Standards, industry codes of practice and regulatory requirements. You will also support CAF Rail UK in maintaining ROGS compliance along with safety performance and risk management activities.
Working closely with the Training & Competence Manager and other departments, you will coordinate the successful delivery of training across the project, ensuring all content is high‑quality, aligned with strategic objectives and fully supported by accurate training records.
What will make you successful in this position?
* Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
* Proven experience delivering technical training within rail or a related engineering industry.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety, engineering standards and technical practices.
* Experience using digital authoring tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Articulate).
* Ability to administer electronic training records confidently.
* Familiarity with competence‑based training and assessment frameworks.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
* Strong organisational abilities with the capability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
What Salary will you be paid for this role?
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £45,000 per annum.
