About The Job
The Clinical Feedback Lead has the responsibility to establish the operational procedures, system requirements, design, running and reporting of the pertinent and additional findings reporting service.
* Will be presented with potentially diagnostic genetic variants as they become available and must execute a standard set of procedures, including variant interpretation, reporting and clinical feedback, and document findings accurately and completely.
* Work closely with the BioResource's bioinformatics, operations and ethics teams, clinical staff involved in the studies, the NHS Genomics Medicine Service, and any third‑party organisations delivering elements of the safety reporting services.
* Responsible for the specifications and development of alerting services and the quality oversight/validation of the genomics pipeline.
Qualifications
* Experience working with NHS teams, particularly Clinical Genetics and Genomic Laboratory Hubs
* Relevant experience in analysis and feedback of diagnostic genetic results, including monitoring of publicly held lists of clinically significant genes and genetic variants e.g., ClinVar, PanelApp
* Good analytical skills and aptitude for the use of computer‑based analysis tools and frameworks including database management and querying
* Ability to communicate with the clinical community on care issues and on the interpretation of scientific data
* Experience of the development and curation of scientific data sets as part of a research or clinical service

The appointment is full‑time, 37 hours per week; part‑time to 50 % will be considered. Work‑life balance is important, and we are open to discussion on flexible working, including hybrid working.
The post is available on a fixed‑term basis until 31 March 2028 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 4‑year funding cycle.
