The Registered Nurse Associate role is an essential position for community inpatients. As a post-holder, you will work alongside Registered Nurses and Rehab Care Assistants to provide highest quality, patient-centred care. The role bridges the gap between the Rehab Care Assistants and Registered Nurses and is professionally regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Holders of this qualification will be required to register and re‑validate in accordance with NMC registration requirements in order to practice as a Nurse Associate in England.
Main duties
* Contribute to the team in providing high‑quality physical health care for community inpatients.
* Participate in ongoing assessment processes of health needs and the implementation of planned care in a physical health inpatient unit over the 24/7 period that meets the patients' needs.
* Work in an integrated multi‑professional inpatient team that includes a Ward Matron, Team Leaders, Staff Nurses, unregistered staff, therapy MDT, medical staff and wider Trust colleagues.
* Provide quality care for a group of patients specialising in rehabilitation in a physical health inpatient unit, including palliative care in one of the units – Danetre Hospital.

Qualifications
* Active Nurse Associate registration with the NMC
* Level 5 Foundation Degree or equivalent
* Previous inpatient/rehabilitation care experience
* Additional relevant care certificate or post‑reg training
Skills
* Ability to deliver safe patient care, including medication administration
* Basic IT and electronic patient record skills
* Ability to record and report physical observations, ECG
* Understanding of sub‑acute rehabilitation and palliative care
* Experience using SystmOne or similar electronic patient record system

* Ability to deliver care that includes moving and handling
* Friendly, approachable, team‑focused attitude
* Professional manner; upholds the NMC Code of Conduct
