Management Accountant - City of London
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Contract: Permanent/Full Time
Reports to: Estate Director
About the Role
This is a hands-on Management Accountant role supporting a diverse and high-profile mixed-use property portfolio, including residential, commercial, and ground rent assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day financial management, client reporting, budgeting, and oversight of accounting activities across the estate.
You will play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, and liaising directly with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports for internal use and external client reporting, in line with agreed KPIs.
Manage tax reporting and submissions, including CIS, VAT, and NRL.
Attend client meetings to present financial performance and reporting updates.
Deliver variance analysis across budget lines and invoices, with clear commentary and insight.
Produce updated financial forecasts on a quarterly basis.
Maintain accounting records to audit-ready standards and act as the lead for client audits.
Liaise with treasury and credit control teams to support cash posting and debt recovery.
Review and post prepayments, accruals, and other key adjustments.
Process database amendments including lease and licence changes.
Support budgeting processes, service charge reconciliation, and cash reconciliations.
Manage and support an Accounts Assistant, providing leadership in line with team values and objectives.
Support annual estate budget preparation and quarterly reconciliation processes.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional with strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills. A background in property or real estate is highly desirable.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong accounting knowledge with experience in a similar management or client accountant role.
Previous experience working within a property management, real estate, or consultancy environment preferred.
Experience in preparing management accounts, financial analysis, and budgeting.
Familiarity with accounting systems (experience with Horizon and Proactis advantageous).
Excellent Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Word.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
Confident communicator with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
