The role…
Job Title: Executive Chef
Site: Westonbirt School, Tetbury, GL8
Working Days: 5 days out of 7, mainly Monday to Friday, with some weekends for events. Usual shifts start as early as 6.30am and finish by 7pm; event days may finish until 10pm.
Shifts & Working hours: 40 hours per week
Working Weeks: 52 weeks per year
Pay Details: £50,000 per year

Duties Include:
* Managing the kitchen, food production, and service points at this prestigious co-educational independent day and boarding school.
* Catering for approximately 1000 students at lunch during the week, plus breakfast, supper, and weekend feeding for onsite boarders (around 150 meals per sitting).
* The site includes an onsite Nursery and prep school.
* Overseeing a kitchen team of 10 staff members, including sous chefs, CDPs, pastry chefs, GA, and KP.
* Ensuring the food operation runs smoothly and efficiently.
* Managing stock ordering, hospitality menus, staff rotas, and food presentation.
* Collaborating with the site General Manager to provide a seamless dining experience.
* The school operates during term time; during holidays, the space is open to families and for events, closing only at Christmas.
* Financial accountability for the unit's GP/COGs.
* Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene compliance.
Your Background…
* Proven leadership skills with experience managing at least 6 chefs and multi-site delivery points.
* Strong technical cooking skills with a background in independent school catering.
* The ability to work in challenging environments while maintaining high standards.
* Excellent organizational and administrative skills to ensure smooth daily operations and events.
