We are seeking a skilled and experienced panel beater to join our restoration team, working on the repair, restoration, and fabrication of bodywork for classic Aston Martin vehicles.
This role involves far more than conventional accident repair. You will be working on heritage vehicles where accuracy, craftsmanship, and an understanding of original construction methods are essential.
The Role
* Repair and restoration of steel and aluminium body panels
* Fabrication of repair sections and complete panels where required
* Metal shaping using traditional techniques (including hand forming, wheeling, and shrinking/stretching)
* Assessing damage and planning appropriate repair methods
* Preparation of panels and bodywork for paint, including filling and shaping to a uniform, straight standard, ensuring surfaces are correctly profiled and ready for final refinement by the paint department
* Working closely with the paint department to ensure panels are finished correctly prior to paint application
* Maintaining panel gaps, alignment, and overall body integrity to exacting standards
Development & Progression
This role offers the opportunity to work at the highest level of vehicle restoration, including:
* Exposure to full body restorations and bare-metal rebuilds
* Working on rare and historically significant vehicles
* Developing skills in traditional coachbuilding techniques
* Collaboration with a highly skilled team across fabrication, paint, trim, and mechanical departments
This is a role for someone who wants to produce exceptional work, not carry out volume-based repairs.
What We’re Looking For
* Solid, hands-on panel beating experience is essential
* Proven ability to repair panels properly, not simply replace them
* Experience working with steel and aluminium bodywork
* Strong fabrication and metal shaping skills
* Excellent eye for detail, symmetry, and finish
* Ability to work methodically and take ownership of your work
Highly desirable:
* Experience in classic car restoration or coachbuilding
* Familiarity with lead loading or traditional finishing techniques
* Experience working on high-value or heritage vehicles
This is not a production environment. Every project is approached with care, accuracy, and an emphasis on quality over volume. Opportunities to join the team are rare and reserved for individuals who take genuine pride in their work and not those who turn up to “just get the job done”.
You will be working as part of a small, highly skilled team where craftsmanship and attention to detail are valued above speed.
A key part of the role is the opportunity to see your work through from damaged or incomplete panels to a fully restored body, and ultimately into a finished car. The work you carry out is visible, permanent, and forms part of a vehicle that will be appreciated for years to come.
What We Offer
* The opportunity to work on rare and significant Aston Martin vehicles
* A clean, well-equipped, and supportive workshop environment
* Competitive salary based on experience
* Long-term career opportunity within a respected specialist business
