Description Europe Non-Financial Risk IRM Consultant As Non financial risk IRM consultant for the European Region, you will, collaborate as a valued partner for all Regional and Market management, supporting the local markets in facilitating the delivery of a commercial, forward looking and future proof regional risk management framework. You will be expected to understand the Region Europe processes and requirements and to look at operational risk management from an integrated perspective, ensuring alignment between Group strategy and local implementation. In close alignment with the Global Operational Risk Management Team, the Region Europe RCF team and your regional peers, you will establish the appropriate risk management tactics for implementing the DLL Group Operational Risk Management Framework within Region Europe, providing the DLL Europe markets and management with appropriate Operational Risk policies, tools, training and communication. You will ensure Region Europe understands its non-financial risk environment and the current and emerging operational risks inherent therein, quantifies both its appetite and current exposure to those risks, and consciously takes mitigating measures commensurate with that appetite. You will oversee and challenge the design and ongoing operational effectiveness of those mitigating measures via Region Europe’s Risk & Control Framework, including the delivery of necessary remediation and/or lessons learned following operational incidents and will ensure Region Europe takes proactive steps to manage emerging regulatory expectations. Ultimately you will enable regional management to make timely and well informed steering decisions based on a clear articulation of Region Europe’s operational and non financial risk position. The objective of your role is not only to provide assurance and counterveiling challenge on the robustness of the operational risk management framework, but also to work as a valued partner with the 1st Line teams in a collaborative manner to improve risk culture and drive continuous risk and efficiency enhancements. Find out more here about how you can unleash your full potential at DLL Day to day: Participate in a team of NFR SMEs, markets based but aligned to the Region, facilitating the execution of non-financial risk management with a regional, functional and risk lenses. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Cooperate with Regional and Markets management to understand local strategy and imperatives and support regional Head of IRM in challenging senior management on strategic decision making. Establish very close engagement and working relationships with Local business to translate Group Operational Risk strategy and Operational Risk Management Frameworks to the local Regional and Market setting. Support and/or act as a point of contact with other Group and/or functions such as Internal Audit, Financial Control, RC&A, Compliance, Legal etc. Support the Group Loan Review, Credit Core and Model Validation functions in executing global initiatives or on-site reviews. Policy Development Keep track of the regional operational risk framework including of the impact of (updated) Global operational risk policies and communication in close collaboration with the Group Operational Risk team and regional peers Work with 1LOR to ensure that regional and global risk management policies are implemented. Risk Identification Implement and manage all Operational Risk activities, aligned to Group strategy and local requirements, and perform quality assurance (quality checks, thematic deep dives and periodic maturity assessments) Risk Management & Reporting Proactive intervention and support to the risk owners, functions or respective market where unmitigated risk are identified, being the risk guardian in the organization. Provide strong feedback loops to risk and control owners, finding managers, incident reporters, senior Management and Functions Monitor and drive remedial activities where control weaknesses are identified, working with 1LOR to ensure remedial actions are appropriate and timely. Take responsibility for Archer user management and data quality for the market. Establish and report upon clear market level operational risk profiles, aligned to functional process execution and Group level reporting requirements. Clearly articulate, report and monitor all material operational risks including reputational consequences faced by the market / Region Europe, contributing to a consistent picture of the DLL Group operational risk profile. Attend local risk committees as necessary, presenting the operational risk profile and/or risk position on specific topics Your work contributes to sustain a sound risk culture with a customer focus which should result in a high quality, effective and efficient risk control framework that safeguards that all processes managed within Region. Measures: Effective and efficient local OR control framework, procedures and processes that optimally support the OR activities Correct implementation and review of local processes to ensure compliance with Group Risk policies, standards and procedures and hereby reduces operational risk Effectiveness and efficiency of Non financial risk Framework including proper monitoring, reporting and follow up to ensure the learning organization Proactive identification and management of relevant local regulatory developments All members enjoy Two working days per year volunteering for a local charity. Good track record in managing internal stakeholder relationships and capability to influence Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA, CIA) Knowledge of applicable regulations and guidelines Extras: Policy experience is an asset. Applies high standards and ability to produce high standard end-products. Takes initiatives, enjoys meeting new challenges, works agile and knows how to approach multiple hard deadlines.
