Breakfast & After School Club (Assistant)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Active Care assistant to deliver our Morning and After School Clubs.
Staff deliver a variety of creative, play-based activities that inspire and entertain children aged 4–11 years, taking responsibility for the smooth running of the clubs, maintaining high standards of care and compliance, fostering positive relationships with parents, children and school staff.

Position Overview
This role calls for candidates who are creative, passionate about providing exceptional care and have the energy and imagination to create a safe and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and thrive. Candidates should be able to inspire confidence in parents and excitement in children, while ensuring the smooth running of both morning and after‑school clubs. Childcare experience and a relevant qualification is a plus.
Compensation and Schedule
* £12.71 – £13.01 per hour, depending on experience
* Working Monday to Friday: 7:00 am – 8:45 am and Monday – Thursday 2:50 pm – 5:00 pm
* Term‑time only (with holiday work opportunities)
Responsibilities
* Assist the day‑to‑day operation of the Morning and After School Clubs.
* Deliver an outstanding customer experience and act as the main point of contact for parents and carers.
* Ensure safeguarding and well‑being of all children in your care.
* Build strong relationships with parents, carers and professionals to support every child’s development.
* Manage queries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
* Promote the clubs within the school and local community.
* Prepare and serve a light breakfast/tea for children attending the Active Care sessions.
* Manage ordering or purchasing of food and supplies for the provision.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
* Experience in a similar environment (wrap‑around care/holiday clubs).
* Experience in EYFS (planning activities & experience, assisting an Out of School Club or Sport Club) – desirable.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Level 2/3 childcare or Play‑work qualification – desirable.
* Level 2 Food Hygiene (training can be provided).
* Be available five days a week (Mon‑Fri).
* First aid (training can be provided).
