THE OUTNET are now seeking a talented Senior Buyer to join the team. Some of the essentials for you to know are:

Location: Our office in Westfield

Reporting into: Head of Buying

Here is a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

8. Responsible for the global buy budget and buy strategy for the department
9. Responsible for negotiation of all trade terms, conditions and deliveries to ensure consistent and flow of stock to maximize sales and margin and mitigate operational costs
10. Negotiate with suppliers in a tough but fair manner to secure exclusive ranges/brands and optimize the profit margin
11. Managing and flexing OTB within Brands to hit the quarterly targets but remaining opportunistic and driving the best possible return for the OTB
12. Proactive continuous global product sourcing in an opportunistic environment, developing existing relationships and fostering new relationships, including international travel
13. Strong knowledge of the luxury market to identify new brand and product opportunities, implementing strategies to increase the buy and secure new brands
14. Maintain and develop best position with vendors to insure we are the exclusive or first point of call for any off-price activity
15. Strong relationship with the Merchandise team; analyse weekly reports and work with Merchandiser to review risks and maximise opportunities
16. Monitor deliveries and performance of all vendors and take decisive action to deliver targets
17. Up to date competitor knowledge within both off price and full price to ensure THE OUTNET is the premier off price destination
18. Developing and presenting product and brand strategies internally to all relevant teams, including Marketing, Upload and Editorial to ensure we are meeting our global customer demand
19. Management and development of Buy team including regular feedback and focus on the team development and motivation to retain talent
20. Feedback on department to Buying Manager and Head of Buying

The type of person we are looking for:

21. Significant commercial experience gained in a Buying role
22. Extensive relevant experience in luxury fashion retailing within a multi-brand environment
23. Entrepreneurial spirit with the creative flair to drive a business forward
24. Proven commercial experience of trading in a fast paced and reactive environment
25. Proven track record of creating positive impact on business through buying strategy
26. Good judgement and decision making skills with confidence in suggesting calculated risks.
27. Off price experience not necessary but must demonstrate an enthusiasm and interest in off-price
28. Exceptional people management experience.
29. A proven track record of networking, negotiation skills
30. Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
31. Excellent communication skills
32. Desire to be the best and provide exceptional customer value and experience.
33. Extremely well-organised, methodical and efficient with the ability to self-motivate and drive initiative
