Water Hall Primary School is a vibrant and exciting school committed to providing all children aged 3-11 a rich and diverse educational experience. The school has approximately 200 students and 34 staff. The site consists of a single building.

We are seeking a talented and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.

Position Details

* This role will support children with SEN throughout the school on a one to one and small group basis
* This is a fixed-term contract until 31 August 202. Continued employment beyond this date may be considered based on the needs of the school.
* Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK and will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Role Responsibilities

* To work alongside the SENCO by developing, leading and delivering key learning to children
* Delivery bespoke interventions
* Provide appropriate learning activities using toolkits
* Provide feedback to teachers
* Know and understand relevant EHCP's (Educational health and care plans) specific to the children you are working with and implement accordingly.
* Promote positive relationships with families and outside agencies
* Be a keyworker and build strong relationships with the children
* Supervise children throughout the day, including playtimes and lunchtimes.

The successful candidate will:

* Have experience of working with pupils in an educational setting, preferable a primary school
* Have experience of working with SEN children
* Be resilient, cheerful, patient, and flexible.
* Have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* Be prepared to work across the school, providing one-on-one or group support to pupils who require additional help with the education and behaviour.
* Be able to deliver targeted interventions to individuals or groups of pupils.
* Participate in school activities and initiatives to ensure pupils receive the highest quality of education.
* Hold a minimum of Grade C in English and Maths GCSE or an equivalent qualification.
* Knowledge of Read Write Inc. would be beneficial.
