High or Medium Voltage Testing Technician
Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing specialist that designs and produces advanced electric heating and cable systems used across energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors. They are known for high quality products, innovative engineering and a strong focus on safety. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced High or Medium Voltage Testing Technician to join their technical team in Deeside.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong HV or MV testing experience who wants to work in a modern manufacturing environment and contribute to the testing and validation of precision engineered products.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing on completed production cables and heater systems
- Complete high and medium voltage AC and DC testing in line with internal procedures
- Support production related tasks when required
- Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure safe, compliant and reliable testing
- Assist with research and development work to improve cable performance
- Maintain accurate testing records and produce clear, concise reports
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure correct PPE use at all times
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum two years of QA or QC experience within electrical systems or test equipment
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Good communication skills with the ability to write clear test reports
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety standards
- Proficient with MS Office for record keeping
- Practical experience with hand and power tools
Preferred Experience with Testing Equipment
Experience with any of the following is an advantage, but training can be provided:
- Line frequency HiPot testing up to 50kV
- Very Low Frequency (VLF) HiPot
- DC insulation testing
- Tan Delta testing
- Partial discharge analysis
- Power analysis meters
- Inductance and capacitance meters
- High current injection
- High temperature testing ovens
- Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) fault finding
- Data acquisition and logging equipment
