Bury Council has a new permanent position available for an Advanced Practitioner within theCASS and Leaving Care Team to work full-time based in Bury, Greater Manchester.
Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £45,441 – £46,464 per annum

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Children’s Social Worker looking to take on a leadership role within a multi-disciplinary, strengths-based safeguarding approach. The Family Safeguarding Model aims to keep children safely within their families by providing intensive, structured support to parents. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting Social Workers, leading complex casework, and ensuring high standards of safeguarding practice.

* Provide a professional social work service to children in need, in need of protection, children in care and their families/carers in accordance with the principles of the Children Act.
* Provide specialist and expert advice in the context of particularly complex or challenging social care cases.
* Personally manage a complex and diverse caseload, ensuring children, families and/or carers receive support to meet their assessed needs.
* Lead and undertake assessments or interventions in complex and/or contentious cases.
* Work directly with challenging children, young people and vulnerable service users employing a wide range of social work knowledge, skills, methods and techniques
* Process referrals and complete assessments in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies.
* Contribute to the preparation and implementations of plans for children in need, child in need of protection, children in care, foster carers, adopters and family support.
Key Requirements for this role:
* Possess a degree in Social Work (such as CQSW, CSS, DiPSW, or an equivalent qualification).
* Must be registered with Social Work England.
* Significant experience in relation to children and families.
* Demonstrated experience in conducting research and generating detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
* Experienced in providing coaching or formal mentoring to individuals or teams (desirable).
