The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), to recruit a Corporate Health & Safety Advisor. Based in their Newtownabbey office within the Health & Safety Services department, the Health & Safety Team, comprising both Corporate and Construction Health & Safety, provides Health & Safety training, information, and guidance across the organization on policy and legislative requirements. This organization manages more than 85,000 properties and employs 3,000 staff throughout NI.
Your new role
This is a temporary contract based in the Newtownabbey office, working hybrid between the NIHE’s office and your home. The Corporate Health & Safety Advisor is part of a Health & Safety Team, providing training, information, and guidance on policy and legislative requirements. The role fulfills the requirement of a competent Person as per the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (NI) 2000, reporting to the Assistant Health & Safety Manager (Corporate). Key responsibilities include:

What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
* Possess a degree or equivalent qualification (Level 6*) or higher in Occupational Health and Safety
* Demonstrate 3 years’ relevant experience in a Health & Safety Advisor/Officer role
* Hold membership of IOSH at Graduate level (GradIOSH) or above, with a commitment to achieve CMIOSH within 2 years
* Significant experience in developing health & safety policies, incident investigation, workplace inspections, risk assessments, training, and communication of health & safety information
What you'll get in return
Salary range £32,076 - £40,221. You will work for a large housing organization on an ongoing temporary contract. Benefits include weekly payments via BACS, mileage reimbursement at 45p per mile, 37 hours per week, 35 days annual leave including stats, and a good work-life balance.
