Position: Permanent, Term Time Only

The opportunity has arisen for a Library Assistant/6th Form Study Supervisor. Highfields is a vibrant and popular school with approximately 1300 students, including 200 in our sixth form. Our students are friendly and highly motivated.

Highfields is proud to be a part of East Midlands Education Trust (EMET), a partnership of schools whose mission is to raise educational standards and improve the life chances of all children within our Trust. Our schools enjoy a high degree of ‘aligned autonomy’ while being supported by a central trust team to ensure the highest quality of provision.

Our 6th Form is a key part of the school, known for its excellent results. In addition to assisting in the library, this candidate will help with UCAS applications and revision planning. First Aid will also be a part of this role.

To start as soon as possible, we are looking for an outstanding practitioner. The successful candidate will be resourceful, inspirational, and forward-thinking, sharing our vision of achieving excellence and inspiring students.

We wish to appoint a colleague to this post who has:

1. The ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best
2. Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
3. A commitment to professional development
4. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Highfields is situated in Matlock, the county town of Derbyshire, on the south-eastern edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park. It is within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby, and Nottingham.

On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' that takes into account the person specification and indicates why you would be the best person for this position.

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification to be offered the post, undergo a full enhanced DBS check, and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process, which may include online searches.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or religion.

Only applications submitted on the school’s application form will be considered. We do not accept applications through recruitment agencies.

Closing Date for Applications: 26th January at Midday
