A new and exciting position has arisen for an experienced Payroll and Finance Officer to join an existing team of 3. Duties will include;
1. Carrying out end to end payroll for 170 staff – salary and from timesheets. You must be familiar with current HMRC legislation
2. Processing overtime and making adjustments
3. Liaising with HR regarding contract details, verifying new starters and leavers and responding to payroll queries from staff
4. Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, supporting budget monitoring and forecasting
5. Month end routines and trial balance management including journal entries for accruals and prepayments
6. Sales and Purchase ledger oversight including monitoring aged debtors
7. Deputising for the Head of Finance and Payroll in their absence
To be successful, you will have the above experience, along with an accounting qualification such as degree or AAT. ( there is the possibility for future study support following a successful probation period ) You need to have a strong understanding of payroll legislation and a good working knowledge of any financial software and Excel. The role will be subject to an enhanced DBS being carried out
