Job Summary
The Packaging Associate – ULMA is responsible for operating and supporting ULMA packaging equipment to package medical products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality standards, and production schedules. This role ensures that products are packaged accurately, safely, and efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory and company requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a dynamic warehouse environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our production process. The position is suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail, manual dexterity, and an interest in mechanical tasks.
Duties
* • Operate ULMA packaging machines in accordance with validated procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
* Set up, load, and monitor packaging materials such as film, trays, cartons, and labels.
* Perform in-process checks to ensure packaging integrity, correct labeling, and product conformity.
* Complete batch documentation, packaging records, and traceability logs accurately and legibly.
* Conduct line clearance activities before, during, and after production runs to prevent mix-ups and contamination.
* Identify, report, and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues or packaging defects.
* Escalate quality concerns, deviations, or non-conformances to the Team Leader or Quality department.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and GMP-compliant work area at all times.
* Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, including the proper use of PPE.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
* Work collaboratively with team members, maintenance, and quality personnel to meet production targets.
Skills
* Mechanical knowledge to understand basic equipment functions and perform minor repairs or adjustments
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
* Experience with assembly processes within a warehouse or manufacturing setting is desirable
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
* Good manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure high-quality packaging standards
* Prior warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for all new employees
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
