Nacro is a national Social Justice Charity with more than 50 years' experience of changing lives, building stronger communities, and working with stakeholders towards reducing crime.
Nacro delivers the Community Accommodation Support service (CAS), a national service across England and Wales. The service enables Courts to make greater use of bail by providing community-based accommodation with support for adult defendants who could not otherwise be bailed. CAS also supports adults released from custody in the last three months of their sentence on Home Detention Curfew (HDC) and other Licence Orders.
The team provides flexible and holistic support to Residents with a wide range of needs. Our goal is to help Residents find and maintain stable housing at the end of their CAS-2 placement. You will manage a caseload of Residents and properties within your designated area.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Supporting clients to comply with HDC/Bail conditions.
* Producing realistic and achievable Support Plans, including accessing and utilizing housing and accommodation services to facilitate move-on to longer-term housing.
* Ensuring all Support Plans and Risk Assessments are personalized, inclusive, and person-centered.
* Providing weekly support to Residents to engage with their support plans and work towards their goals and aspirations.
* Assisting Residents to access Housing Benefit to prevent tenancy risks due to rent arrears.
* Managing properties within your area, ensuring they meet Decent Homes Standard by reporting repairs and replacing furniture and equipment as needed.
* Undertaking basic cleaning tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning and delivering effective, person-centered Support and Safety Plans.
* Providing weekly support sessions (up to 2 hours per week) to help Residents achieve their goals.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Resident records.
* Supporting Residents with Housing Benefit applications.
* Completing referrals to specialist support agencies as needed.
* Liaising with partner agencies such as Probation, Prison Services, Courts, and Police.
* Ensuring properties are adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and clean.
* Empowering and motivating Residents to identify and achieve their desired outcomes.
* Developing Move-on plans early, exploring realistic future housing options with Residents.
What We Expect From You
* Ability to develop person-centered support and move-on plans.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* Experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs (e.g., substance misuse, physical and mental health issues, employment and housing support).
* Flexibility to travel within your area for training and meetings, and to cover other local areas as required.
* Familiarity with computer-based packages.
