Job Title: Residential Child Care Worker
Location: Bishopthorpe Road, North Bristol
Compensation Package:
* Starting Salary: £28,163 per annum
* Guaranteed Progression: Annual pay increases, rising to £30,060 per annum
* Additional Earnings: Potential to earn up to an extra £3,000 per year through sleep-in shifts
* Enhanced Overtime: Earn an additional £5.26 per hour for extra hours worked
* Pay Awards: Annual cost-of-living pay award negotiated nationally
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, person-centred care, considering the choices, needs, and wishes of each child
* Support young people with daily activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and medication administration
* Encourage participation in leisure and meaningful activities inside and outside the home
* Maintain a safe, clean, and well-presented environment by undertaking domestic chores and safety checks
* Accurately update records and working files to inform practice
* Work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing responsibility and supporting colleagues
* Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure child protection
Working Pattern:
* 37 hours per week over 5 days
* Mix of day shifts, late shifts, and overnight sleep-in duties (~one per week)
* Two days off per week, with a guaranteed full weekend off every other week
* Willingness to escort children on holidays, including overnight stays up to one week
