Business Systems and Application EngineerPermanent Milton Keynes Hybrid workingWere supporting a leading SME engineering organisation that specialises in complex, high value electromechanical systems for naval and defence platforms. Theyre looking to appoint a driven Business Systems and Application Engineer to help drive digital transformation and operational efficiency across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage core business systems and integrationsBuild Power Apps for data capture and operational workflowsAutomate processes using Power AutomateDevelop Power BI dashboards, reports and KPI displaysIntegrate data across multiple systems (SQL, SharePoint, Dataverse, APIs, legacy platforms)Map and improve business processes and workflowsMaintain data quality, integrity and documentationSupport system users, training and adoptionWork closely with directors to drive digital transformation initiativesProvide general systems support alongside external IT partners (secondary focus)Key Systems Worked WithMicrosoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BISQL / DatabasesSharePoint & TeamsAccounting, project management and document management systemsLegacy and bespoke systemsEssential Experience & SkillsExperience in a similar systems, analytics or automation roleStrong Power Platform experience (Power Apps, Automate, BI)Strong SQL querying and data integration experienceExperience building workflows, integrations and dashboardsStrong understanding of business processes and process mappingAbility to translate business requirements into technical solutionsComfortable working across the full system lifecycle (requirements, build, test, deploy)Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholdersUnderstanding of data security and GDPRDesirableProgramming (JavaScript, C#, Python)AI applied to business data and reportingERP or Business Management Systems experienceManufacturing or engineering environmentSharePoint and M-Files experienceQualificationsSTEM or IT-related degree or equivalent practical experience in systems, BI, applications or automation rolesInterested?
