Are you motivated by the opportunity to support safety and safeguarding within the NHS? We are looking for a DBS Project Officer to support a Trust-wide project in moving all our staff to the DBS update service. This is a vital role that ensures our staff meet DBS compliance standards, contributing directly to a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike. If you have strong administrative skills, a professional approach, and a passion for supporting safeguarding processes, we would love to hear from you. This is a fixed-term contract lasting 2 months (June to end of August) offering a chance to be part of a meaningful project. The role requires a physical presence on our Trust site in Littlemore 2‑3 times a week and you may be required to travel between sites. As the first point of contact for our staff, you will play a crucial role in guiding them through the DBS review process, ensuring it is handled with sensitivity and efficiency. Your support will help maintain high standards of safety and compliance across our Trust.
Responsibilities
In this role your main responsibilities will include updating tracking spreadsheets, ensuring appropriate ID checks are completed, and supporting colleagues with the use of online DBS software. You will liaise with staff and managers regarding application status, chase outstanding documentation, and handle email and telephone queries with professionalism and tact. The role also involves assisting managers with the ID check process, identifying issues needing escalation, and performing ad‑hoc administrative duties as required. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth progression of applications and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications
Previous experience in NHS recruitment is advantageous but prior knowledge of DBS requirements is essential. You will need to possess strong administrative and organisational skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be confident in handling sensitive information with confidentiality, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient in ICT systems including MS Office and Management Information Systems. Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment processes would be beneficial.
