Job Title: SHEQ Advisor
Project: Underground Cable Installation – Shetland
Location: Shetland Islands
Start Date: Saturday 9th August 2025
Duration: Until end of October 2025 (with potential for extension)
About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) Advisor to support a critical underground cable installation project in Shetland. This is a site-based role with a strong focus on health & safety compliance, environmental management, and quality assurance.
Your mission? To keep boots on the ground safe, ensure high standards across the board, and support project delivery in a challenging but rewarding remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day SHEQ support and advice to site teams.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with all HSE legislation and company standards.
Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong safety culture.
Lead and support incident investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Maintain accurate SHEQ records and reporting.
Liaise with the project team and subcontractors to ensure SHEQ requirements are understood and implemented.Requirements:
NEBOSH Certificate (minimum) – diploma desirable.
Proven track record in a similar HSE/SHEQ advisory role within the construction or infrastructure sector.
Familiarity with underground cabling, civil engineering, or energy infrastructure projects preferred.
Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Able to work independently in remote locations.
Right to work in the UK is essential.Working Pattern & Logistics:
Shift Rotation: 10 days on / 4 days off
Accommodation: Provided
Travel: Flights booked by the project team
