We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Erith, working Monday to Friday on a 40-hour contract, and playing a key role in keeping our hire equipment safe, reliable, and ready for customers.
Responsibilities
* Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out repairs on hire equipment.
* Working on equipment operating at 110v and above, ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards.
* Assembling, testing, and preparing equipment ready for rehire.
* Prioritising repairs effectively to minimise downtime and support depot schedules.
* Accurately completing service records and updating systems using Microsoft Office and internal platforms.
* Working closely with colleagues to support a safe, efficient, and well‑organised workshop.
* Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.
* Supporting Speedy’s ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver, through safe and responsible working practices.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience working on 110v phase equipment and above, ideally within the hire industry or a similar engineering environment.
* Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
* A positive, proactive approach and a commitment to quality and safety.
