About the Department & Team:
The role will be responsible for global product ownership of GRS business objectives within the Underwriting Domain for Agile Products, covering all core capabilities such as Risk Assessment, Coverage, Rating, and Pricing technology. This includes collaborating closely with our Underwriting, Actuarial, and Data teams on how these capabilities are engaged both globally and locally, including data flow between linked capabilities like Submission, Quote, Book/Bind, and Policy Administration.
You will be responsible for articulating and translating the overall Underwriting business vision into a global digital strategy aligned with ‘One GRS’, Segment, and Regional strategies. You will prioritize within our financial and resource constraints and make tactical decisions within your respective portfolio.
You will oversee Agile product teams, ensuring they are well-resourced, focused on key priorities, and aligned on comprehensive roadmaps to meet portfolio objectives for key stakeholders and the overall business strategy.
Direct management of a team of Product Managers and oversight of their Agile teams and stakeholders to align priorities, remove roadblocks, and secure resources.
Accountable for outcomes and key results (OKRs) directly tied to strategic objectives of your portfolio.
Ensure stakeholder satisfaction and progress against objectives using agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set ambitious and clear digital portfolio strategy; oversee Product Managers translating this into strategic roadmaps for their respective Agile Products.
* Responsible for the business results of customer journeys or Agile Products, measured by relevant OKRs.
* Deep understanding of GRS businesses, their go-to-market strategies, opportunities for scale, and local market differences.
* Communicate the Portfolio vision effectively to stakeholders and team members.
* Collaborate with IT and Business Units to align resources with the Portfolio vision and roadmaps.
* Partner with Design Team to prioritize customer-driven design based on usability tests and market knowledge.
* Partner with Data Team to prioritize data model design, considering global and local data strategies for robustness and usability.
* Align development and business resources on goals, working with stakeholders to remove execution roadblocks.
* Manage a team of Product Managers responsible for all Agile Products.
* Provide feedback, support, and coaching in sprint and release planning.
* Manage scope delivery, align with Leadership and Business Sponsors on strategic outcomes, performance, and resource allocation.
* Ensure clarity of Epics and Features, resolving issues efficiently.
* Act as the 'voice of the customer' for the Portfolio, analyzing feasibility, costs, and program aspects.
* Approve final Epics and user features.
* Maintain quality and consistency of Digital Product and Portfolio Roadmaps, Backlogs, and opportunities for reuse.
* Make priority decisions for Global Risk Selection and Rating Products regarding technology investments, within the investment appetite set by COOs.
Skills and Experience:
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, seen as a decision-maker with the ability to dissent when necessary.
* Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies, typically acquired through a relevant Bachelor's degree or significant experience as a Product Owner.
* Experience in business, engineering, technology, or consulting.
* Proven expertise in setting priorities and understanding business value impacts.
* Technical proficiency to participate actively in sprint planning and contribute informed insights.
* Proven experience with Agile practices and expectations.
* Comfort with decision-making under uncertainty.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
