The role
As a Field Support Technician, you’ll carry out a range of mechanical and CIS‑related support activities that enable the safe and effective delivery of services across RAF Shawbury and occasionally RAF Cosford. This role places you at the heart of site operations, supporting change activity, resolving issues, and ensuring systems are installed, decommissioned, and maintained to the highest standards.
Day-to-day, you will be:
1. Supporting CIS incident and change activity through the Digital Ticketing System (DigiTS)
2. Providing technical assistance to customers on CIS equipment and processes
3. Maintaining accurate records and documentation for each task
4. Implementing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for CIS equipment installations and decommissioning
5. Offering CIS subject matter expertise during installation projects.
This role is full time working 37 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire. Working hours will be Monday – Thursday 08:00 17:00 and 5 hours on a Friday, starting at 07:00 or 08:00.
Essential experience of the Field Support Technician:
6. Experience of telephony services within the MOD, including Defence Digital processes and catalogue familiarity
7. Strong customer service skills
8. Experience delivering change as part of a team
9. Willingness to learn, with specialist training provided.
Qualifications for the Field Support Technician:
Information Technology Infrastructure Library Version 4 Foundation (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
