Hotel Café Royal, a luxury 5-star hotel conveniently located between Soho and Mayfair, is seeking an enthusiastic and personable Waiter to join the team at the Green Bar, a vibrant cocktail destination inspired by the iconic Café Royal Cocktail Book of 1937. Named after the legendary absinthe, the Green Bar offers a sophisticated yet lively environment, attracting contemporary Londoners and hotel guests alike.
As a Waiter in the Green Bar, you will be an integral part of delivering exceptional service, ensuring guests enjoy a seamless and memorable experience. You will have the opportunity to showcase your knowledge of cocktails and hospitality while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Green Bar is open Monday to Wednesday from 4pm until 12am and Thursday to Sunday from 2pm until 12am (1am for hotel guests).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a warm, professional welcome to all guests, ensuring their needs are anticipated and met throughout their visit.
Deliver knowledgeable recommendations on the Green Bars signature cocktails, absinthe menu, and other beverage offerings.
Ensure all guests receive a luxury-level dining and drinking experience in keeping with the hotels standards.
Take orders accurately and promptly, ensuring clear communication with the bar and kitchen teams.
Serve food and beverages efficiently, adhering to presentation standards.
Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to any requests or feedback with professionalism.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Green Bars menu, including the history and inspiration behind signature cocktails and the absinthe collection.
Stay updated on seasonal menu changes and promotional offerings.
Assist in preparing the bar area for service, including setting tables, polishing glassware, and stocking supplies.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and service areas throughout shifts.
Support the Green Bar team with side duties and end-of-shift responsibilities as required.
Collaborate effectively with bar staff, kitchen teams, and fellow waitstaff to ensure smooth service.
Uphold a positive and professional atmosphere within the team.
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Ensure responsible service of alcohol, adhering to licensing laws and hotel policies.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Waiter or in a similar role within a high-end bar, restaurant, or luxury hospitality environment is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with guests from diverse backgrounds.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering flawless service.
An interest in cocktails and spirits, with a willingness to expand product knowledge.
Impeccable grooming and presentation, in line with luxury hospitality standards.
A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
