Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic physicist to join our radiotherapy physics team at the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre based at Glan Clwyd Hospital. We expect you can demonstrate an interest in medical/radiotherapy physics, and we offer on-the-job training and the opportunity to work towards registration as a clinical scientist.

Our department provides radiotherapy treatments to about 1800 patients per annum, using four Varian linear accelerators, the Eclipse planning system, Prosoma virtual simulation, ortho‑voltage treatment unit and a CT scanner. We were early implementers of VMAT, FFF VMAT, AI‑based outlining and SGRT. With your assistance we will continue to develop the service, offer SABR and modernise our equipment. In the coming year we will replace two accelerators and upgrade our radiotherapy IT system.

* Assist in the commissioning of new equipment and treatment techniques.
* Work towards registration as a Clinical Scientist by collating a portfolio of work.
* Assist in developing the service and implementing modern techniques.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
