Job Title: Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer

Salary: £60k - £70k + Benefits (DOE)

Purpose of the Role
Support the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a Top Tier COMAH chemical manufacturing site. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical (LV Duty Holder), control, and instrumentation systems, as well as supporting design, documentation, and commissioning activities where needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and Instrumentation systems, including:
o Site electrical distribution (415v 3-phase, 110v & 240v)
o Safety instrumented systems and critical alarms
o Compliance and implementing safety systems to ensure the safe operation of the site.
* Develop and maintain EC&I documentation (e.g., diagrams, technical files)
* Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, and safety case development
* Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, standards, and site procedures
* Carry out functional and proof testing of systems
* Support project delivery and commissioning activities
* Maintain accurate records using the site CMMS
* Perform risk assessments for routine and non-routine tasks
* Promote and participate in continuous improvement and training activities
Requirements
* Level 3 electrical qualification and/or completed full electrical apprenticeship but ideally degree/HND/HND qualified
* Trained to BS7671 (Wiring Regulations)
* Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
* IPAF certified (or willing to obtain)
* Working knowledge of:
o 61508 and 61511 understanding, SIL levels etc
o BS60079 (advantageous)
* Strong understanding of low voltage systems, and electrical distribution networks
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
* Confident with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
