Role Overview
Sperry Marine is a leading supplier of navigation, communication, information, and automation systems for commercial marine and naval markets. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, we have an extensive international presence across Europe, the Americas and Asia, employing almost 400 people across ten countries.
We are seeking a Business Enterprise Applications Architect to lead and further develop our Applications Team. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic design, optimisation, and delivery of the organisation’s enterprise application landscape, with a primary focus on IFS ERP, SharePoint, and a range of SaaS/PaaS business applications. This leadership role ensures that enterprise systems are robust, scalable, integrated, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
A central element of this role will be overseeing an inflight upgrade programme from IFS Apps to IFS Cloud, ensuring its successful delivery. Alongside technical leadership, you will lead and develop a high-performing applications team, fostering strong relationships with business stakeholders and ensuring a culture of ongoing service excellence.
About You
You are a people‑centred leader who understands that great teams thrive on trust, clarity and support - not just technical expertise. You bring structure, fair and calm leadership to complex challenges while empowering your team to grow and succeed.
1. Proven experience as an Applications Architect, ERP Architect, or similar enterprise-level technical leadership role.
2. Strong hands-on and architectural experience with IFS ERP (preferably including IFS Cloud).
3. Experience managing SharePoint and cloud-based SaaS/PaaS business applications.
4. Demonstrated success delivering complex application projects, including ERP upgrades or large-scale transformations.
5. Prior experience managing, mentoring or coaching a technical applications team.
6. Strong understanding of integration technologies, APIs, middleware, and cloud platforms.
7. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills.
8. Strong Project Management skills.
9. A great people leader with the ability to build trust, engagement and team cohesion.
10. Technically capable including technical document creation, and able to bring structure, clarity and direction to complex work.
11. A clear and confident communicator, able to summarise and report on complex work, with strong cross functional influence.
If this sounds like it matches your experience, and the type of work you'd love to lead, we can’t wait to hear from you. And because diverse teams perform better, we’d especially welcome applications from individuals from under-represented groups.
What You Get in Return
12. A role that offers scope to make a real difference
13. Competitive salary and pension
14. Hybrid working policy - 3 days a week in the office
15. Option for a compressed work pattern, offering every other Friday off work
16. International working environment
17. A range of other benefits to support the health, wellbeing and lifestyle of you and your family
