Fostering Independent Reviewing Officer
Location: Grangemouth
The post holder will undertake annual foster carer reviews.
Purpose of the role
The post involves planning, preparing, and chairing annual foster carer reviews. It also includes quality assuring the practice, supervision, and support of Fostering Relations foster carers.
Fostering Relations recruits foster carers for children in local authority care and supports their development. We recruit independent workers as reviewing officers and fostering panel members to ensure quality assurance. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all employees to share this commitment and undertake appropriate checks.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
* A recognised social work qualification, along with substantial post-qualification experience in fostering or children’s services.
* Valid social work registration.
* A current DBS check specific to the role.
* Good knowledge of child care and fostering legislation, regulations, guidance, and standards.
* Ability to work independently to ensure foster carers meet NMS requirements and expectations.
* Flexibility to respond to the demands of the role, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyse a wide variety of information.
* Ability to work independently and produce review reports in a timely manner.
You will need reliable transport for travelling to foster carer homes to complete reviews. We offer a competitive fee and mileage allowance.
