Project Engineer - Manufacturing
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
This is a key role for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being at the centre of technical project coordination. With Bill of Materials (BOMs) typically received every 4–8 weeks, you’ll be expected to use your engineering judgement to plan build schedules, understand technical drawings, and help shape the delivery process from the ground up.
Role Overview:
* Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create or adapt work plans and schedules.
* Assess the manufacturability of new components — estimating time and resources needed for build.
* Liaise with internal teams (design, production, testing) to ensure smooth project flow.
* Identify potential delays or technical issues early, revising plans as needed.
* Oversee testing and validation processes, ensuring compliance to standards.
* Support the implementation of scalable systems and practices as the company expands its output.
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience in a Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar technical project role.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings, planning, and scheduling within a manufacturing context.
* Ability to look at a part or assembly and estimate build timelines and resource requirements.
* Comfortable working with limited or infrequent BOMs, using initiative and engineering know-how to fill in the gaps.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills — able to work cross-functionally.
* Experience in a scaling or fast-evolving manufacturing environment is a plus.
Why Apply?
* Competitive salary between £50,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.
* Opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping a growing production operation.
* Supportive management team open to new ideas and continuous improvement.
* Long-term development opportunities as the business scales.
