Aircraft Mechanical Fitter - Rotary Wing
Location: Shawbury
Programme: UK Military Flying Training System (UK MFTS) - H135/H145 Fleet
Reports to: UK MFTS (RW) Supervisors
Mon - Fri / 08:00 - 17:00 / 40 hrs per week.
Key Areas
* Completed a formal aviation apprenticeship or related discipline.
* Ideally Experience on Airbus Helicopters. But needs helicopters in general.
* Ideal maintenance background
* Driving license
Role Overview
The Aircraft Mechanical Fitter plays a vital role in supporting the UK Military Flying Training System's rotary wing operations. Based at RAF Shawbury, this hands-on position involves maintaining and servicing the H135/H145 helicopter fleet to ensure optimal performance and safety. Though non-certifying, the role is essential to the daily functioning of flight operations and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with aircraft movement, line maintenance, and base maintenance of the H135/H145 fleet
2. Perform inspections and repairs under the direction of Shift Supervisors or Certifying Engineers
3. Maintain high standards of workmanship to ensure safe aircraft operation
4. Complete maintenance tasks on airframe structures, power plants, mechanical and electrical systems in line with OEM instructions
