About the role


This is a new appointment. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinicians based within the University, the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and the Public Health Service who are developing a programme of high-quality research within the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) directed at respiratory disease, multimorbidity, cohort development in the locality and further afield, minority ethnic communities and health in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).



About you


You will have a research profile of well-established national/international standing and be a significant research income generator able to enhance impact activity and develop a programme of high-quality research in the above areas. In addition, you will support the Public Health service both locally and nationally as required. You will supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical postgraduate and undergraduate researchers and contribute to teaching delivery, engagement and enterprise activities drawing on your own expertise and agenda of work.


Candidates are expected to be included in the GMC Specialist register with a license to practise, or the GDC specialist list, or the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health specialists, or are expected to be eligible for registration within six months of interview (details in Job Summary). An honorary public health consultant contract will be requested from UKHSA/OHID or other appropriate public health organization as required, and also from the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for research activities.
